Speed Limit Changes

How to create a speed limit change request with HERE Maps.

Context

The new HERE maps API has been connected within MyConnectedFleet in order to provide more accurate speeding events. In order to create faster changes and quicker updates, if this feature is switched on the new speed limit change requests for roads will need to go through the HERE map creator process documented in this guide.

In the event you would like to request a speed limit change for a road, please complete the following steps:

Step 1: Navigation from MyConnectedFleet

Navigate to the help button in the MyConnectedFleet portal and select “Speed limit changes”, this will direct you to the HERE Map creator web page: (please use this link if you do not see the option in the MCF menu) web page:

Step 2: Sign in

Select Sign in/Join Map Creator

  • Anyone can submit a speed change request and sign up is free.

Sign up or log in, which will then open the HERE map creator:

You will see these options in the top right hand corner:

Step 3: Search for the road you wish to make changes to

  • You can find the right road by using use the search bar in the top left-hand side corner in order to input:
    • Coordinates
    • Road names
    • Postcodes
    • Full address

Then select the section of road on the map:

This will bring up the road attributes:

Select Speed and then make the changes that are appropriate

Click Save:

Step 4: Tracking your edits

In order to track the changes you have request please go to the left hand side menu and select “Your stuff”, then “Your Feed”, then “Places” and select “Roads”:

This will bring up the list of edits you have made and their status with Here Maps (please note reviews can take up to 4 weeks):

Previous Version of Here Map creator: Create customer ticket 

  1. Select Customer Ticket and then in the “Select a problem” dropdown menu, please select the “Road” option
  2. For the “Select a type” dropdown menu, please select “Road has wrong attributes”

 

This will trigger a message to select the road, please use the map and navigate to the specific road you wish to raise a change for and select it on the map

  • You can find the right road by using use the search bar in the top left-hand side corner in order to input:
    • Coordinates
      • Road names
      • Postcodes
      • Full address

Once you have located the road please click on it directly in the map until the correct section is highlighted red:

  1. Once selected you will be able to see the current attributes assigned to the road by selecting the “Show attributes” button.

  1. Please do write in “MCF” for customer reference so that we can assist you with HERE customer tickets in the future

  1. Then fill in the following information:
    1. Content Product Name, Map Release Version and Customer service version are not required at all please leave blank
    2. Please provide details about the change you believe is required, optionally you can add any attachments as evidence
    3. Then click submit

  1. Once you have submitted you will receive a customer ticket reference and communication directly from HERE maps with respect to the outcome of your request.
